Fall Rain
Fall rain –
Finally you arrive.Drunk – my breath a simmering smoke –
Squatting under a canopy in early night
Listening to cars thunder sheening empty streets.
And above –
Wet feet dancing on every black leaf.Everything a shadow – the towering bones
Of trees. All but the sky.
What should have been starlight dark
Glowing – touched by a city’s mark.

Beautiful
How many of these do you have, I wonder? I think they would make a lovely collection based on the running theme of nature and their brevity. A nicely done chapbook could be in your future!
(No pressure)
But it could be something to think about.
Nice work.
